Bus TravelBus travel within Italy is provided by numerous companies and services that vary from local routes linking small villages to fast and reliable major intercity connections.
By using the local services, it is possible to arrive in just about any location throughout the country. Buses can be a cheap and faster way to get around if your destination is not on major train lines. It is usually possible to get bus timetables for the provinces and intercity services from local tourist offices. In larger cities most of the main intercity bus companies have ticket offices or operate through agencies and buses leave from either a bus station or from a particular square or street. Details are provided in the individual towns and city sections. In some smaller towns and villages tickets are sold in bars – just ask for “biglietti per il pullman”. It is usually not necessary to make reservations on buses, although it is advisable in high season for overnight or long-haul trips. |
