Tax ReceiptsVisitors to Italy, as well as all other persons, are required to always obtain a receipt after purchasing goods or paying for services. In order to avoid paying the fines laid down by Italian law, foreign tourists must ask for these receipts. You might be asked by a taxation officer (Guardia di Finanza) to show the receipt immediately after you leave the shop. Failure to do so may result in a fine. |
